Garlic Flu Tonic
5 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tablespoon ginger, chopped
Raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar
1 lemon, juiced
2 red chili peppers, chopped
Add the ingredients, one layer at a time, into a Mason jar. Start with garlic, chili peppers, and ginger, and end with the lemon juice and the apple cider vinegar.
Seal the jar, ensuring a little space from the rim and store in the pantry. Consume some of this mixture regularly until your flu symptoms are gone, or for prevention.
Garlic – A whole head of garlic a day does miracles for your body. It stimulates the immune system and normalizes your gut flora. Garlic is a powerful natural antibiotic and kills a large number of different bacteria. Eating garlic on an empty stomach is effective in preventing and treating many diseases. When you consume garlic on an empty stomach it increases its power as an antibiotic.
Cold and Flu Juice
1-inch knob of fresh ginger,
juice of 1 freshly squeezed orange
juice of 1 freshly squeezed grapefruit
Benefits: Fresh ginger has anti-viral properties and vitamin C, prevalent in both orange and grapefruit juices, may reduce the frequency of the common cold. Take a little every morning on an empty stomach.
Ginger Soup
1-2 inch piece of Fresh Ginger sliced thinly.
4 Green onions sliced into medium sized pieces.
1-2 garlic cloves peeled and chopped
6 cups Chicken bone broth or regular chicken stock
Place ginger, onions, garlic and mushrooms (if you choose) in a pot and add a small amount of broth. Simmer until ingredients are softened. Add the rest of the stock and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 20-30minutes. Sip on broth throughout the day and feel better! You can eat the ginger pieces for some extra heat. Add other vegetables to make it more of a meal. Don’t add much salt as salt tends to bring things deeper into the body and this is more about pushing out.
Add in dried or fresh mushrooms for an extra boost of energy.
Add 4-5 pieces of Astragalus (Huang Qi) to the broth as it is simmering to boost your immune system and energy.
Master Tonic
1 part fresh chopped garlic cloves
1 part fresh chopped white onions, or the hottest onions
1 part fresh grated ginger root
1 part fresh grated horseradish root
1 part fresh chopped Cayenne peppers, Jalapenos, Serranos, Habeneros, African bird peppers or any combination of the hottest peppers available
Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way full with equal parts of the fresh chopped or grated ingredients. Fresh herbs are best. Cover completely with raw unfiltered, unbleached, apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously and then top off the vinegar if necessary. Keep the jar in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks. Shake the tonic daily a couple of times.
Begin this formula on the NEW moon and strain and bottle on the FULL moon, (approximately 14 days). Strain liquids from solids after steeping for 2 weeks. Filter the mixture through a clean piece of cotton (coffee filter or colander), bottle and label. Store your Master Tonic in a dark place. Take 1/2 to 1 ounce, two or more times daily, as needed. Another suggestion is to partake of it as a condiment.
You may puree the solids and add to honey or lemon juice, or make salad dressing or marinade for meats. Master Tonic lasts indefinitely at room temperature, after straining.
“This tonic is extremely powerful, because all the ingredients are fresh. Its power should not be underestimated. This formula is a modern day plague tonic. It is said that when added to an incurable routine it could cure the most chronic conditions and stubborn diseases. It stimulates maximum blood circulation, while putting the best detoxifying herbs into the blood. This formula is not just for the sniffles, it has helped to turn around the deadliest diseases.”
“I designed this formula as a fresh herb alternative to Dr. Christopher’s plague formula, to be more alive, a herbal juice tonic, and believe me, you don’t want to be without formulas like this when you or your loved ones get ill; it will save your life. Make up plenty, it can’t go bad because vinegar already is, and will last almost forever,” writes Dr. Shultz.

For A Stronger Heart
Catch some sunshine! It could protect your heart, according to a new study in Nature Medicine. A group of mice was exposed to a light box t of illumination similar to the outdoors. When researchers induced heart attacks in the mice, the light-treated rats showed signs they had been protected from heart attack–induced tissue damage. Researchers discovered when you go in the sun that heart-protective proteins (called Period 2 proteins) appear more often in your body. The light-treated mice had 4 times as many Period 2 proteins compared to mice who weren’t exposed.
Here’s how it works: When you go into cardiac arrest, your heart delivers less oxygen to the body. Period 2 proteins help your body be more efficient at using oxygen, so you can survive on less, says lead researcher Tobias Eckle, Ph.D., professor at the University of Colorado Denver.
Beet Juice for Blood Pressure
Researchers have discovered that drinking 17 ounces of beetroot juice a day can significantly reduce blood pressure. The findings could have major implications for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. It is the ingestion of dietary nitrate contained within beetroot juice — and similarly in green, leafy vegetables — which results ultimately in decreased blood pressure.
The decrease in blood pressure was due to the chemical formation of nitrite from the dietary nitrate in the juice. The nitrate in the juice is converted in saliva, by bacteria on the tongue, into nitrite. This nitrite-containing saliva is swallowed, and in the acidic environment of the stomach is either converted into nitric oxide or re-enters the circulation as nitrite. The peak time of reduction in blood pressure correlated with the appearance and peak levels of nitrite in the circulation.
Hypertension causes around 50 per cent of coronary heart disease, and approximately 75 per cent of strokes. Nitrate is likely to underlie the cardio-protective effect of a vegetable-rich diet. Drinking beetroot juice, or consuming other nitrate-rich vegetables, might be a simple way to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system, and may be an additional approach in the modern day battle against rising blood pressure.
Blood Pressure Lowering Juice
2 Stalks of Celery
1/2 beet
2 Carrots
1/2 green apple
lemon
Juice all ingredients and enjoy.
Health benefits of celery juice – Balances body’s blood pH, neutralizing acidity. Acts as the perfect post-workout tonic as it replaces lost electrolytes and rehydrates the body with its rich minerals. Celery is known to contain at least eight families of anti-cancer compounds. Among them are the acetylenics that have been shown to stop the growth of tumor cells. Phenolic acids which block the action of prostaglandins that encourage the growth of tumor cells. And coumarins which help prevent free radicals from damaging cells. The phytochemical coumarins prevent the formation and development of the colon and stomach cancers. This humble pale juice has been shown to effectively and significantly lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol. The natural laxative effect of celery helps to relieve constipation. It helps relax nerves that have been overworked by man-made laxatives. The potassium and sodium in celery juice helps to regulate body fluid and stimulate urine production, making it an important help to rid the body of excess fluid. The polyacetylene in celery is an amazing relief for all inflammation like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, asthma and bronchitis. Kidney function: Celery promotes healthy and normal kidney function by aiding elimination of toxins from the body. While eliminating toxins, it prevents formation of kidney stones. Lower blood pressure: Drinking celery juice every day for a week significantly helps lower blood pressure. A compound called phtalides help relax the muscle around arteries, dilating the vessels and allowing blood to flow normally. To be effective, drink the juice for one week, stop for three weeks, and start over.

Food for the Heart:
Cranberries Researchers found that men who drank 3 cups of cranberry juice daily raised their HDL (the good kind) cholesterol levels by 10 percent, which in turn lowered their risk of heart disease by 40 percent. Plant compounds called polyphenols are believed to be responsible for the effect.
Whole Grains At Tulane University, researchers found that people who ate 4 or more servings of whole grains a week had a 22 percent lower risk of developing heart disease than those who ate the foods once a week or less.
Grapefruit Eating one grapefruit each day can lower your total cholesterol and LDL levels by 8 and 11 percent, respectively, lowering your risk of heart disease and providing you with more than 150% of your daily-recommended vitamin C.
Water Researchers found that drinking 5 or more 8-ounce glasses of water a day could lower the risk of heart disease up to 60 percent— the same drop you get from stopping smoking, lowering your LDL cholesterol number, exercising, or losing a little weight. Replace half of what you drink with water and you’ll save 23 pounds per year!
Fish Omega-3 fats in tuna and other fish and flaxseed help strengthen the heart muscle, lower blood pressure, prevent over clotting, and reduce the level of potentially deadly inflammation in the body.
Fruits high in vitamin C, like oranges and pineapple: According to research from England, people with the most vitamin C in their bloodstreams are 40 percent less likely to die of heart disease.

Relieve and Prevent Varicose Veins:
Lose weight. Eat low-fat foods and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Drink green juices that are alkalizing and improve blood circulation. Drink LOTS of water daily.
Foods That Help: Green vegetables, cherries, blueberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, cranberries, kiwifruits, citrus fruits, bell peppers, pineapple, beetroot, whole grains.
Juice Recipe:
½ medium-sized beetroot
½ small pineapple
2 ribs celery
½ yellow bell pepper
¼ lemon
½-inch ginger root

Top 6 Foods That Can Naturally Unclog Arteries
Your arteries continually transport essential nutrients and oxygen one needs from the heart to the rest of your body. Here are 6 natural foods that will help cleanse and unclog arteries and help prevent a heart attack or stroke:
Organic Asparagus “Asparagus works within the 100,000 miles of veins and arteries to release pressure, thereby allowing the body to accommodate for inflammation that has accumulated over the years.” says Shane Ellison, an organic chemist and author of Over-The-Counter Natural Cures. It helps ward off deadly blood clots.
Organic Pomegranate “Pomegranate contains phytochemicals that act as antioxidants to protect the lining of the arteries from damage”, explains Dr. Gregg Schneider, a nutritionally oriented dentist and expert on alternative medicine.
Turmeric “The spice turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory,” Dr. Schneider says. “It contains curcumin which lowers inflammation—a major cause of arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries.)”
Spirulina A daily 4,500 mg dose of this algae helps relax the artery walls and normalize blood pressure. It could help your liver balance your blood fat levels.
Organic Cranberries are potassium-rich and can help reduce cholesterol levels. Regular consumption may help reduce your overall risk of heart disease by up to 40 percent.
Organic Watermelon A Florida State University study found that people given a 4,000 mg supplement of L-citrulline (an amino acid found in watermelon) lowered their blood pressure in just six weeks. Researchers say the amino acid helps your body produce nitric oxide, which helps widen blood vessels.
Natural therapy for opening the veins of the heart:
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup ginger juice
I cup garlic juice
1 cup organic Apple vinegar
Mix all above and boil gently til it is 3 cups. Remove from heat and cool. Mix with 3 cups natural honey and store in glass bottle. Take one tbl daily before breakfast. Blockage from veins disappears slowly.

Herbal Teas for stress and anxiety.
Teas of chamomile, basil, marjoram, or rosemary help ease stress. Use about 1 ounce fresh herbs (half of that if dried) for every 2 to 3 cups water.
A tea of elderberry flowers is considered relaxing to the nerves and is sleep inducing, too. (Caution! Avoid if pregnant.)
For insomnia, drink bee balm, which acts as a mild sedative, calming the nerves and aiding sleep. Take an infusion of 2 teaspoons chopped leaves in 1 cup boiling water.
Drink rosemary tea to alleviate melancholy or depression.
Native American tea ingredients for insomnia included lady’s slipper (decocted), yarrow, mullein, hops, and purslane (decocted).
Valerian tea (or capsules) is a natural sleep aide. In infusions, 1 ounce of the roots in 1 pint boiling water is a common recipe, consumed by wineglass as needed. (Caution: Too high a dose may lead to negative side effects!)
Tea for Depression
1 tsp St John’s Wort
1 tsp Gingko Biloba
Healing Lemon Honey Tea
1 lemon, sliced
2 ginger slices
1 cup or more of local, raw honey
1 12-16 oz glass jar
Slice a lemon and place in a glass jar with the ginger slices and cover in honey. Place in refrigerator for a week to marinate. When ready to drink, boil 8 oz of water and add one tablespoon of honey lemon tea mix to the boiling water. Stir and enjoy. The tea’s hot steam and liquid help clear your head, the lemon clears mucus while giving you some vitamin C and the antiviral, antibacterial honey soothes your throat. This mixture will keep in your refrigerator for months.

Herbs to Reduce Stress
Panax ginseng is perhaps one of the most studied medicinal herbs in the world — and might be one of the most widely used. It’s used to promote a sense of well-being and endurance, as an anti-depressant, for memory and calmness, for energy (it’s one of the ingredients in most energy drinks)… and even as an aphrodisiac!

Rhodiola, also called “golden root” — is used mostly to treat stress, depression and fatigue, and is also believed to increase mental performance. Its popularity is growing, in large part because of what an incredibly versatile and relatively inexpensive herb it is.
Holy Basil comes from the lowlands of India. It’s called “holy” because it is believed by Hindus to be the avatar for the goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealthy, wisdom, and light. Holy Basil has a wide variety of uses, stemming back thousands of years. Within the tradition of Ayurvedic medicine, it is used to alleviate stress, headaches, colds, digestive problems and inflammation. Recent studies have also shown that it’s also a powerful antioxidant and may even be able to reduce blood glucose levels and cholesterol.

Ashwagandha is one of the premier restorative herbs in Ayurvedic medicine. It helps stabilize mood and supports optimal physical and emotional well-being. It is known to improve memory, focus and endurance and is believed to reduce the effects of stress on the body.

He shou wu is used in as a tonic to slow down the aging process. It is a restorative herb, calming to the nervous system, and has been shown to promote hair growth, alleviate insomnia, and may aid with learning and memory.
Schizandra berries promote liver function, support the immune system, relieve anxiety, increase energy, and can improve mental clarity. It’s sometimes called the “five flavors berry,” because it tastes sour, bitter, sweet, salty and acrid all at once.

Reishi Mushroom is used to “calm the spirit.” Reishi, (literally “supernatural” mushrooms) have been used for more than 2,000 years, making them perhaps the oldest mushroom to be used medicinally. They can be helpful to reduce anxiety, alleviate insomnia, combat fatigue, and lower blood pressure.
